read the new Sportsmanship policy implemented by the Mid-Ohio Athletic
Conference The MOAC 2024 Fall Banquet was recently
held at All-Occasions. During the
Banquet two Cross Country Girls Runners,
Jaiden Jones,(on the right) Galion, and Addison Clever,
Highland(below) were recognized for displaying
remarkable sportsmanship during the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Championship
meet on Oct. 12. They doubled-back to help a fellow competitor, the lead
runner from Ontario, who was experiencing a medical emergency. A letter
from Ontario High School Athletic Director, Jeff Fisher says it all, “This
selfless act assured the immediate safety of our athlete, yet disqualified
their ability to compete and finish the race. Their decision demonstrates
their level of awareness, kindness, and maturity, and recognition is due.” Picture
supplied by Galion AD Matt Tyrrell The MOAC has approved a change of
admittance fees to MOAC contests, mostly due to a new Ohio law effective
Oct 31 requiring a separate price for students at all contests. The new gate
fees are: JV, Freshman stand-alone contests
and JH events: Adults $6, Students $5 Varsity contests: Adults $8,
Students $5 Fall sports player and coaches of the year Congratulations to the following Student-Athletes and Coaches that were announced as Player of the Year and Coach of the Year at the recent Fall Banquet.
